selected commissioned work

My most recent collaboration, of which I am especially proud. The request was for a set of two quilts of the same design. I was given a lot of creative freedom and the client wanted a modern design: a match made in heaven!

This was a terrific collaboration with a friend who requested a quilt featuring that year's Pantone Color of the Year: periwinkle.

This client asked for an image from the great Kurosawa film, "The Seven Samurai." Conte on paper.

This client gave me free rein, asking only that I make her a small quilt that used these two greens. She was thrilled.

This was a fun collaboration with the Brooklyn Art Museum. A number of artists submitted work in response to a word. Mine was "absquatulate," meaning "to leave abruptly, flee, or abscond." Acrylic paint on tiny canvas.

This client loves purple. My design, in solids & ombres.

This client asked for red. I used wonderful Jennifer Sampou fabrics and pattern to create this table runner for him.

This piece was created with colored pencil on a weathered piece of wood I've toted around for years. My client burst into tears. Anyone whose heart has broken with the loss of their beloved dog understands.

This client is an avid birdwatcher and requested a set of my bird flags made from his photographs; this is one from the set.
